Ellen Akashi (she/her), a Southern California native, is admittedly much more familiar with the concert dance world than that of musical theatre. Starting as a bunhead, Ellen switched her focus to modern dance and received her BFA from Chapman University. She has a wide range of credits including the San Diego Opera, LA- and OC-based danced companies Laurie Sefton Creates and Backhausdance, Dance Lab New York, Company XIV, music videos, and pre-production for various choreographers, all of which lead to her currently touring with Disney’s The Lion King. Throughout her life, Ellen has also enjoyed teaching dance and would love to share any of her knowledge and experiences to assist you in any way!
