Kayla Davion got the call that she would be making her Broadway debut in Waitress in the middle of a college final...so she ignored it! A college student turned Broadway star, Kayla made Waitress history as the first African American Dawn. From then on, Broadway was never ever getting rid of her, as Kayla went on to perform in the Original Broadway cast of King Kong, which went on to receive the Chita Rivera Ward for Outstanding Ensemble. She most recently starred in the Original Broadway Cast of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical as an Ikette and a Tina alternate.
Kayla is excited to affirm students' theatrical gifts, reminding them of the value and joy in performing!
