Effie, we all got pain…for Broadway! Moya Angela was recently seen starring as Effie White in Dreamgirls on the West End where she received a 2016 LA Ovation Award Winner for Lead Actress in a Musical for Effie, as well as a 2010 NAACP Theatre Award Winner for Lead Actress for the same role. She also belted over the pride lands in the landmark musical The Lion King as Rafiki, played the role of Clara in the Broadway production of Ghost the Musical and commuted the NYC transit system as Althea and Ms. Williams in the Original Broadway cast of In Transit the Musical.
