Al Hirschfeld Theatre

The Al Hirschfeld Theatre, originally opened in 1924 as the Martin Beck Theatre, is a distinguished Broadway venue celebrated for its rich history and architectural grandeur. Designed by architect G. Albert Lansburgh, the theatre showcases a unique blend of Byzantine and Moorish styles, featuring a striking facade and an opulent interior adorned with intricate details. In 2003, the theatre was renamed in honor of renowned caricaturist Al Hirschfeld, whose work vividly captured the essence of Broadway. With a seating capacity of approximately 1,424, the Al Hirschfeld Theatre continues to host acclaimed productions, maintaining its status as a cherished destination for theatergoers.
