Richard Rodgers Theatre

The Richard Rodgers Theatre, located at 226 West 46th Street in New York City, is a historic Broadway venue with a rich legacy. Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp, it opened in 1925 as Chanin's 46th Street Theatre. The theatre features a neo-Renaissance facade with white brick and terracotta, and an auditorium adorned with intricate detailing. In 1931, the Shubert Organization acquired the theatre and renamed it the 46th Street Theatre. The Nederlander Organization purchased and refurbished the venue in 1982, and in 1990, it was renamed to honor the renowned composer Richard Rodgers. With a seating capacity of approximately 1,400, the Richard Rodgers Theatre has hosted numerous acclaimed productions, contributing to its enduring status in New York City's vibrant theatre scene.
