Belasco Theatre

The Belasco Theatre, located in New York City, is a historic Broadway venue with a rich legacy. It was originally opened as the Stuyvesant Theatre in 1907, designed by architect George Keister. In 1910, it was renamed the Belasco Theatre after its founder, David Belasco, a prominent producer and director of the time. The theatre is renowned for its intimate auditorium, which reflects Belasco's commitment to bringing actors closer to the audience, a hallmark of the "Little Theater" movement. The interior features rich woodwork, sweeping murals, and lighting fixtures designed by Tiffany Studios, showcasing the opulent design typical of early 20th-century theatres. Over the years, the Belasco has hosted numerous notable productions and has been restored to maintain its historic charm, continuing to be a cherished venue in the Broadway community.
