Ashley Rodbro

Talk about a cool job! Ashley Rodbro is an esteemed director, writer, and Associate Director for some of Broadway’s biggest hits. Ashley is the current Associate & Resident Director for Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, having previously served as Resident Director for Hamilton in Puerto Rico & San Francisco. Prior to that, Ashley was the Associate Director and Script Supervisor for the hit show Oh, Hello on Broadway with John Mulaney and Nick Kroll, working on the production Off-Broadway, on a National Tour, on Broadway at the Lyceum Theater, and as a special on Netflix (released in 2017). She was also the Assistant Director for John Mulaney’s Kid Gorgeous Netflix special at Radio City Music Hall in February 2018.

When it comes to her own projects, Ashley has directed plays, musicals, and comedy at Ars Nova, Musical Theater Factory, CAP 21, 54 Below, the New York Fringe Festival, and Yale, working with writers including Cory Finley (Thoroughbreds film), Will Stephen (Saturday Night Live), Ethan Kuperberg (Transparent), and Mark Sonnenblick and Sam Salmond (Jonathan Larson Award winners). Her play, Running Interference (written with Eric William Morris) was a Time Out Critic’s Pick and was published by Indie Theater Now. Ashley also directs digital content, including the BC/EFA online benefit Broadway Does Mother’s Day and Laura Benanti’s Sunshine Songs series. She is the founder and creative director of the production company Heredia Vision.

Ashley graduated from Yale in 2009, where she was the President of the Yale Dramat. She’s originally from Wadsworth, Illinois. She enjoys connecting with aspiring performers, theater-makers and students for virtual audition planning, acting lessons, career guidance, audition “book” consultations, and to teach you about what she does and how she learned how to do it.

Practice makes perfect, but practicing with a Broadway star takes you to the next level! Have the upper hand in your next audition by getting invaluable insights from our artists on how to stand out. Drill down on your delivery, learn about perseverance, and boost your confidence! As with any audition, make sure you come prepared and familiar with your song or monologue to maximize your experience.

Acting Lesson $185 / 60 Minutes

Comedy or drama. Shakespeare or Miranda. TV or theater. No matter the style, playwright, or mode, the core of all strong acting is honesty and truth. Our Broadway artists will help you get to a place in your monologue or scene that feels grounded and authentic. You will work with a Broadway artist one-on-one to breakdown the text, make specific choices, and explore what it’s like to embody another person via voice and movement. Career consultation and advice are also included for those looking to pursue theater professionally. When you sign up, you’ll receive our helpful “preparing for your lesson” guide to help you get ready!

Group Q&A $200 / 60 Minutes
