Talk about a cool job! Ashley Rodbro is an esteemed director, writer, and Associate Director for some of Broadway’s biggest hits. Ashley is the current Associate & Resident Director for Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, having previously served as Resident Director for Hamilton in Puerto Rico & San Francisco. Prior to that, Ashley was the Associate Director and Script Supervisor for the hit show Oh, Hello on Broadway with John Mulaney and Nick Kroll, working on the production Off-Broadway, on a National Tour, on Broadway at the Lyceum Theater, and as a special on Netflix (released in 2017). She was also the Assistant Director for John Mulaney’s Kid Gorgeous Netflix special at Radio City Music Hall in February 2018.

When it comes to her own projects, Ashley has directed plays, musicals, and comedy at Ars Nova, Musical Theater Factory, CAP 21, 54 Below, the New York Fringe Festival, and Yale, working with writers including Cory Finley (Thoroughbreds film), Will Stephen (Saturday Night Live), Ethan Kuperberg (Transparent), and Mark Sonnenblick and Sam Salmond (Jonathan Larson Award winners). Her play, Running Interference (written with Eric William Morris) was a Time Out Critic’s Pick and was published by Indie Theater Now. Ashley also directs digital content, including the BC/EFA online benefit Broadway Does Mother’s Day and Laura Benanti’s Sunshine Songs series. She is the founder and creative director of the production company Heredia Vision.

Ashley graduated from Yale in 2009, where she was the President of the Yale Dramat. She’s originally from Wadsworth, Illinois. She enjoys connecting with aspiring performers, theater-makers and students for virtual audition planning, acting lessons, career guidance, audition “book” consultations, and to teach you about what she does and how she learned how to do it.
