Jackson’s 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning musical: A STRANGE LOOP. This universally acclaimed “metafictional musical…tracks the creative process of an artist transforming issues of identity, race, and sexuality that once pushed him to the margins of the cultural mainstream into a meditation on universal human fears and insecurities”. Remarkably, A STRANGE LOOP is the first musical written by an African-American person to win the Pulitzer, and first musical ever to win the award without a prior Broadway run.

Jaquel currently stars as “Damian” opposite Angourie Rice, Renee Rapp, and Auil’i Cravalho in the MEAN GIRLS Movie Musical, directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr for Paramount Pictures. The film, which opened as #1 at the box office, is an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical and Tina Fey’s hit 2004 movie, both of the same name.
