Julie Benko most recently marched her band out on Broadway as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. For her performance, she was named the 2022 Breakout Star for Theater in the New York Times. The Broadway matchmakers have found many a perfect match for Julie, from understudying Hodel and Chava in Broadway’s Fiddler on the Roof, to playing Cosette in The 25th Anniversary of Les Miserables, to understudying Wendla and Ilse in the First National Tour of Spring Awakening. Julie is also the recipient of the Wilde Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Girl in Once, and won an Honorable Mention for her first short, The Newlywed’s Guide to Physical Intimacy, at New Faces New Voices Film Festival.
